Botanical!!

I recently had the good fortune (aided by a friend’s consent!) to visit the Botanical Gardens of Kolkata.. Check out the pics here! …. The place was a nice little drive from the heart of Kolkata city where I live.
The place was extremely beautiful (thanks to the weather!) and truely, it was nature as good as it can get in a place as close as this to Kolkata.
I was amazed to see the famed “Great Banyan Tree.” It branches out and then sends 2880 (phew!) aerial roots DOWN to the ground. These then flesh out to support and sustain the branches.
The central trunk has long been removed (1925) , so every part of this tree that remains has grown down to the ground from the air.
I thought the trees and the jungle in the background were done in photoshop…

Im glad u think so!… Thats certainly a complement for my 2.0 Megapixel Sony Ericsson w700i and the gardeners at Botanical!!

never been to bot gardens with a girl….maybe it will look different then ..last time i went slipped on dog poo…now gotta go there with a whole new perspective
