2K2 .. The Batch video!

2008 May 25

Now here’s something that folks from BIT Mesra are gonna love! — The Batch Video of the 2K2 batch.. (2002-2006) .. perhaps the first of its kind! .. Many thanks to Manish, Amit, Anish and Aditya.. I remember how hard they had worked during our last few days on campus to get this thing done!

Actually even if you are in no way related to BIT, you might still like watching it.. It depicts the life of a student in an engineering college in India! .. This video captures so much in 15-odd minutes.. Many images, memories and pictures of the 4 years that I’ve lived.. Here they are.. JUST PUSH PLAY! :)

LOLZ…ok Review of 2K2 The Batch Video …the rustic guys remind me of the students who come thru counselling and the modern guy looks like one with donation seat!! Ragging still takes place there?? In my college ..infact in whole MP & CG since 2003 ragging is strictly banned.

Throwing chalks and panja ladana while teacher is teaching???? I cant digest that..that too in BIT Mesra…ya fir unchi dukaan fiki pakwaan?

The portion after results is supposed to sad but i m rolling in laughing. :D :D Heavy dilip kumar acting!!

And in the last few mins I’m suffering from a muscles pain in stomach due to laughing!! SRKs and Salmans and Aamirs..who’s the choreographer??

    Wonderful video!!

I enjoyed the video. :) It also reminded me that I love all songs from Rang De Basanti and that Rockford song. I will have to update my music meme. Btw, I tagged you too there. :)

I enjoyed watching ragging scenes. Though looking at the guys hostel rooms and mess room, BIT wasn’t so great in infrastructure. Nevertheless, that was my first peep into a guy’s hostel room. :P

    @ Reema,

Glad you liked it. Its things like these that get embossed on your mind forever… the rustic life of an Indian Engineering student! ;) … I somehow can’t associate Engineering in India with plush campuses and chic hostels!

    @ Poonam,

The infrastructure at BIT, in fact, was very good. The hostels are OLD .. but they’re solid and very well-maintained.. I am not trying to defend my alma-mater! :P .. .But it’s a fact.. Infrastructure-wise I think BIT Mesra rocked!

We had a 700-acre campus.. (a part of which was forest).. but it was HUUGE.. and lot’s to see and revel in! :)

Saw your Music meme yesterday… Will do it too! .. Thanks for tagging!

(Ok… Too many smileys! )

Its actually not so Amyth. A private college has to get approval from AICTE and show infrastructure to start. so any gud pvt college doesnt start in a building. And in few years they have plush campus and good hostel facilities.
For ex check out my college

    @ Reema,

Apologies for the last line. It sounded a lot worse than I had meant it to be. I am editing that comment! :P ..

The link you left is awesome! — Oriental Institutes seem very positive and committed to good education.. The infrastructure seems great!

I admit, It is incorrect to “generalize” about anything..

The video rekindled quite a few memories of my own college days. It was almost the same except that we never lined like this outside the loos. Although there were 3 for 20 people.
I too tried to get admission in BIT for M.tech but somehow couldn’t get through the final phase. The results were declared with a delay of 2 days and I was stranded in Ranchi with my father. Its a nice place and I really liked the weather.

    @ Amit,

The “lining up outside loos” bit is obviously a little exaggerated.. It was not SO bad.. but yeah, once in a while you would enter the loo to find all the “loos” occupied! ;) .. so then u had to head to the “next nearest loo”.. ;)

Yeah.. the Campus is nice… enables you to enjoy the weather!
