Kabir ke Dohe: In train
2008 December 20
On my way back from Amravathi, I was listening to my MP3 player and somehow – by God’s Grace (quite literally), I shuffled down to listening to “Chadariya Jhini re Jhini” by Anup Jalota.
The song started with the following quote from Kabir – “Kabir ka Dohe” (Kabir’s couplets):
Jab tu aaya jagat mein, jug hanse tu roye
Aise karni kar chhado, tu hanse jug royeWhen you arrived into the world, people laughed while you cried
Act in such a way that when you leave, you laugh and people cry.
(Thanks to this link, for the translation)
I couldn’t help but admire the depth of thought and the simplicity of expression in these lines!

Remember, Muqqadar Ka Sikandar and the song “rote hue aate hain sab… ”
I like that better
Beautiful thought!
This is not the right doha. The right one is
Jab tu aaya jagat mein, jug hanse tu roye
Aise karni Na kare, pache hanse sab koye
No! No! Not like that
Kabira, Jab Hum Paidahuae, Jag Hanse Hum Roye,
Aise Karni, kar chalo, Ham hanse Jug Roye
Kabirji Ki Jai.
Rahim Ji Ki Jai
